STATISTICS AND STUDIES ON HOMELESSNESS
Following is a partial listing of statistics and studies on homelessness available on the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions website.
• AGRM's Annual Fall 2009 Snap Shot Survey - The survey provided demographic data of 22,000 homeless conducted by the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM). The figure is a significant increase from the 18% reported in 2006 and represents a trend of more couples and whole families coming to rescue missions for aide during the past four years.

• AGRM's Annual Fall 2006 Snap Shot Survey - The survey provided demographic data of 20,500 individuals at 154 rescue missions across North America.

•2004 Labor Day Survey - In August we asked nearly 2,500 individuals about labor and homelessness at 60 rescue mission rehabilitation programs across North America.

• AGRM's Fall 1998 Family Ministry Survey - AGRM conducted the survey to provide a better understanding of the background and family history of homeless clients served by mission family shelters. More than 60 missions, and 1,325 clients, participated in the survey. View the actual numbers for from responses to the survey and the response to the findings by AGRM leaders.
• Table of Snap Shot Survey results: 1989 - 1998 - Since 1989, the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions has surveyed over 100 rescue missions that make are part of it's US membership on the third Friday of October. Conducted in order to determine the demographic makeup of the people they serve, the statistics presented below reveal some important trends in the problem of homeless in the United States.

• AGRM's Gambling & Homelessness Study - A survey of 1,100 homeless people shows that gambling is a cause of homelessness.
• 1997 Snapshot Survey (Fall 1997) - This survey of more than 15,000 homeless men, women and children revealed that 20 percent of the homeless checking into America's Rescue Missions have become homeless because of the loss of government benefits in the past year.
