Facebook
If Facebook were a country it would be the fourth largest in the world. When you think about this statistic, you cannot help but think about the huge number of people who must be on Facebook. With people’s lives busier than ever, convenience is something that matters more now than ever.
So what does this mean to Haven of Rest Ministries? It means that we too have found our place on Facebook with the creation of our Facebook fan page. Here are a few of our reasons:
1. It puts Haven of Rest in front of a larger audience to share how the power of God is transforming and renewing lives through the ministry at Haven of Rest.
2. Haven of Rest’s presence on Facebook will make it convenient for more individuals to stay up to date with what is going on at the ministry.
3. Ministry at Haven of Rest is taking place 24 hours a day, seven days a week and much of it does not make it into any of our monthly publications due to limited space. Facebook gives us the opportunity to share this information outside the walls of Haven of Rest, serving as a blessing to many and a testimony to what God is doing at the mission.
With this in mind we are asking those of you who have a Facebook page or are planning to create a Facebook page to join us on Facebook and become our Facebook fan (www.facebook.com/havenofrest.org). By doing so, you will receive exclusive content and stay informed about the ministry at Haven of Rest.

AGRM - Multi-District Men’s Training Institute: Recap
Hosted by Haven of Rest Ministries
For a number of years we have hosted the Association of Gospel Rescue Mission (AGRM) Multi-District Men’s Training Institute. This year was a real blessing! We had 65 men and women representing 15 different rescue missions from all around the country. It was a time of fellowship as well as training for all those who participated.
Our own Executive Director Rev. Ben Walker, Transportation Manager George Aronhalt and Night Supervisor Adam Bloom led devotions. Director of our Men’s Division Jeff Kaiser led the session entitled Maintenance of Facilities: What Comes First / How Maintenance is a Ministry. Last but not least our Chaplain Gary Meeks taught a session called Ministering Through a Work Program.
Guests presenters included Chris Crockett on How the Drug Market Keeps Changing, Craig Peters on Drifting from Your Christian Walk, and Dr. Tim King on Rights of Passage: Godly Events That Bring Us to Manhood. These sessions helped equip participants professionally and personally to do the work that God called them to do.
This was definitely one of the highlighted events that take place at Haven of Rest throughout the year. Every day those who serve in rescue ministry minister to the needs of clients and residents who come through our doors. But for the three days of the Men’s Training Institute the co-laborers in the ministry of rescue were the ones ministered to through encouragement, fellowship, and training.
